I need help with my Wii Wifi?

I ran out of xbox live so i felt like playing James Bond Goldeneye on my wii. I tested the connection and it said it was fine but there is an update that it won't let me download so I was like whatever screw it. I went on the game anyways and it won't connect to the wifi on the game. So i put Modern Warfare Reflex in and the multiplayer worked fine so now I'm confused. Is it something to do with James Bond? Help I'm bored.
