Should I worry about this?

I have a 2001 ford zx2,and the thermostat gauge wanders near the hot side but the thermostat light does not come on.What is that about it just wanders a little bit then comes back but the thermostat indicator never comes on to say the car is over heating.It has been doing it for weeks.Should I worry??
