Should I read FANG by James Patterson?

I have read the first five Maximum Ride books, but when I learned about the sixth one I wasn't sure if i should read it. I love the Maximum Ride books like crazy, but with Fang (my favorite character ever) leaving and that Dylan guy coming saying he was Max's true love or whatever, I immediately decided not to read it. Didn't want to cause my self the heartbreak. Then ANGEL came out and it sounded even worse. But I wanted to see if anyone thinks that reading the rest of the books is worth it. Any answer will help me. Thanks in advance!
